Product Description
Used a lot in wedding flowers, this majestic Calla showcases plum purple spathes with wide ivory lips, standing atop juicy tube-like stems and surrounded by broad, wavy foliage. Native to the hot and humid climates of South Africa, the Calla Lily ismostly found by lakes in moist soils, therefore prefers well-drained soil in a full or half sun location. Calla Lilies are dramatic additions to outdoor gardens with their distinctive funnel-shaped blossoms, but also make excellent cut flowers. We recommend accompanying them with low-growing plants to provide filling foliage over the base areas and covering up those thin stems. How about growing in a pot with something scented to form a treat for the senses. Try planting Vermeer with thecolour co-ordinated Lavender, or Freesia for a wider variety of colour. 16cm+Tubers supplied. Flowers May to October. Height 40-45cm.

Growing at a glance…
Plant your Zantedeschia tubers in compost in spring months. Ensure all risk of frost has passed before planting in your garden. Keep well-watered throughout its growing season, especially if the soil feels dry to touch. Dig a hole at least twice the bulbs depth and space each bulb around 30-40cm apart. This is due to their wide leaves and need more space to grow than a typical bulb.
